Pastor · Teacher · Author
For more than forty years, Leslie has walked with people toward renewal — teaching that lasting change begins when identity in Christ is rehearsed until old reflexes give way, through grace, truth, and time.

Behavior modification is not transformation. You can curb an outburst without addressing the fear beneath it — and eventually the old script resurfaces. This book traces the way out: from distortion to a new legacy, through grace, truth, and time.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.” Romans 12:2
The journey of the book
The sentences spoken over us become lenses, narratives, and finally reflexes. Freedom begins when what has been assumed is finally seen.
Fear, performance, and control feel like character — but they are a spirit of slavery, not the Spirit of adoption we have received.
Renewal meets real people in real kitchens. Confession breaks secrecy, and grace makes exposure safe enough to heal.
What repetition formed, repetition retrains. A renewed mind becomes a different inheritance for children and grandchildren.
The heart of the message
Remove one of these three, and growth falters. Hold them together long enough, and transformation becomes durable.
Without grace, truth feels crushing and confession feels fatal. Grace says: you belong before you behave.
Without truth, grace becomes sentiment and distortion goes unchallenged. Truth says: this is who you really are — and who God really is.
Neural pathways do not dissolve overnight. What repetition formed must be retrained through repetition — patiently, in the ordinary days.
A teacher, not a performer
Leslie serves as Central Recovery Groups Pastor at Lakepointe Church in Texas — teaching, listening, and walking alongside individuals and families through addiction, shame, and the slow, faithful work of spiritual renewal.

“You did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons.” Romans 8:15
About Leslie
Leslie Gregory has spent more than forty years in pastoral ministry. He writes not as a man who has arrived, but as one who knows the road — the fear, the performance, the hidden scripts — and the God who patiently rewrites them.
The book is dedicated to his wife, Debbie, “who taught me to listen beneath behavior.”
